Yes, I’d rather be in Paris, but tonight was an exception

Emails are normally pretty boring. Another political push, a reminder about your gas bill. You know what they look like. BUT occasionally, something magic happens:

“On behalf of Wolf Trap and PNC Bank, I am delighted to inform you that you have been selected as the winner of the PNC Rock Star for a Day contest! Thank you so much for entering—we are looking forward to giving you and a lucky guest the ultimate Rock Star treatment next Thursday, September 12 for the James Taylor performance at Wolf Trap. Your experience includes round trip VIP transportation, a Rock Star experience onsite at Wolf Trap, complimentary food and beverages, a VIP prize pack, and 2 front row seats for the performance.”

WHAT??? I couldn’t believe it. I had actually won! Sure, I’d seen the email offering a chance to win this amazing prize, and sure, I told myself “never happen to you, honey.” And I hit reply and submitted my name. But it did! And let me tell you, it was an incredible, amazing, once in a lifetime experience.

We were already overwhelmed. Then we arrived at Wolf Trap itself and were greeted with chanting “fans,” a red carpet, and a photo op with the Regional President of PNC Bank. He presented me with a guitar!

Into Wolf Trap for dinner at the beautiful lounge area, then down for the concert itself. FRONT ROW SEATS and then intermission where JT himself sat on the stage and signed autographs and took selfies.

It was a night I will never forget!!! Thank you Wolf Trap Foundation and PNC Bank!! You made it worth being in Virginia instead of Paris (well, at least for an evening….) #PNCBank#WolfTrap
